1. Overview

Amazon Quick View Pro ("the Extension", "we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension for Amazon product research.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is used exclusively to provide the product research features you expect from this extension.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information (Cloud Sync Users)

When you create an account for cloud synchronization, we collect:

  • Email Address - Used as your unique identifier for authentication
  • Password - Encrypted and stored securely by Supabase (our authentication provider)
  • Account Creation Date - For account management purposes

2.2 Product Research Data

When you use the extension, the following data is stored locally and optionally synced to the cloud:

2.3 Amazon Page Data

The extension reads product information from Amazon pages you visit, including:

  • ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number)
  • Product titles and descriptions
  • Pricing information
  • Ratings and review counts
  • Best Sellers Rank (BSR) and category information
  • Seller and fulfillment information
  • Buy Box owner information

This data is only processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers except when you explicitly choose to save it to your cloud account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Display Product Badges - To show profit calculations, BSR, and seller information on Amazon pages
  • Bookmark Management - To save and organize products you want to track
  • Profit Calculations - To calculate estimated profits based on your configured costs
  • Cloud Synchronization - To sync your research data across devices (when you sign in)
  • Authentication - To verify your identity for cloud access
  • Extension Improvements - To understand feature usage and improve the extension

4. Data Storage Locations

4.1 Local Storage (Always)

By default, all data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us or any third party unless you choose to enable cloud sync.

4.2 Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you create an account and sign in, your research data is securely stored in the cloud using Supabase (a secure, SOC2-compliant database service). Cloud storage allows you to:

  • Access your research data across multiple devices
  • Recover your data if you reinstall the extension
  • Share research between team members (if using the same account)

Cloud storage is entirely optional. You can use the extension without creating an account; all features work with local storage only.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide functionality:

Important: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking scripts. We do not collect browsing history, search queries, or any information about non-Amazon websites you visit.

6. Permissions Explained

The extension requires the following permissions to function. Here's why:

We do NOT access: Your browsing history, passwords, credit card information, or data from non-Amazon websites.

7. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Local Data: Uninstalling the extension will remove all locally stored data from your device.
  • Cloud Data: To delete your cloud account and all associated data, please contact us at privacy@amazonquickview.net with your account email address.
  • Individual Products: You can remove individual bookmarked products using the "Remove" button in the sidebar.
  • Profiles: You can delete entire research profiles, which removes all associated bookmarked products.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Local Storage: Data stored in Chrome's local storage is isolated to your browser profile and not accessible by other extensions or websites.
  • Cloud Storage: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data transmitted to Supabase uses TLS 1.2+ encryption. Supabase databases are encrypted at rest.
  • Authentication: We use Supabase Auth, which implements secure session management with JSON Web Tokens (JWTs).
  • No Logging: We do not log your browsing activity, product views, or any personal usage patterns.

9. Children's Privacy

The extension is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data
  • Portability: Request export of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out: Opt out of cloud sync by simply not creating an account

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy within the extension
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Displaying a notification within the extension for significant changes

Your continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
